The Jingpo people have a population about 124,000. They mainly reside in compact communities in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Nationalities Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan.

The Jingpo Village occupies a total area of 15 acres with spacious folk residence architecture in various forms and exquisite and magnificent Shanguan house. The architecture collectively displays the structural features and layout of the Jingpos’ stilted-foundation and inverted “T” architectural forms. Erected in the central of the square is the Munaozongge (a mass dance) Shidong (dance direction tower). The design and sculpture symbolize the aspiration of unity and being forward-looking and brave and perseverant character of the Jingpo people. The Jingpos believe in the primitive religion of animism, believe in ghosts and gods and worship their ancestors.

Munaozongge Festival is the grandest traditional festival of the Jingpos. During the festival period, people will dance in crowds and groups around the Munaozongge Shidong.
